What stood out for me when participating in The Risk Exchange: A Director Forum was the quality of the peer exchange. The group brought together a broad mix of industries, board experience and perspectives, which really enriched the discussion. The use of case studies and lived experience helped bring risk to life in a very practical way.

I expected to learn about behaviour and different personality types on the Boardroom Dynamics: The Psychology of Governance workshop, and I came away with genuine insight into the softer side of why people behave as they do. The small group format really helped, we had proper peer exchange, and in the breakouts we could talk through real situations with other directors (many of them Chairs). Wieke brought practical, director‑relevant context alongside solid academic frameworks

The Fundamentals of Finance for Company Directors workshop packs in quite the punch for a one-day workshop. Despite having an accounting background and superficial familiarity with financial statements, this workshop helped me gain a more in-depth understanding of Balance Sheet nuances and the connectivity between the three main financial statements. Caroline is an excellent presenter of this workshop. She is knowledgeable, engaging and is able to make the discussions rich and interesting.

What the Boardroom Dynamics: The Psychology of Governance workshop helped me appreciate is that, at board level and in leadership roles, how closely culture is tied to progress. The way we do things at board level has a direct impact on outcomes. People may only attend this kind of workshop when there's a problem to fix. In reality, it's valuable at any stage. This workshop is for anyone who wants a deeper understanding of what board culture really is, and how leadership can shape it.

The Getting Board Ready workshop was very useful, providing focus and practical insights from the very experienced presenter (Carol), it helped me prepare for my subsequent roles as INED. I have referred back to the materials and approaches on several occasions and would recommend this course to anyone considering a Board of Director role.

I found the format of The Risk Exchange: A Director Forum so much better than a presentation. A small group discussing cases is always great. The one thing that stuck with me is the universality of the principles I've learned to all industries.

The Strategy for Experienced Directors workshop was pacy, interesting, participative and very worthwhile. I am filled with plenty of new ideas and approaches to bring back to my Board colleagues.

The Chairing for Impact: Boards and Committees Workshop is an extremely useful guide to the practical, organisational and functional roles of a Chair in leading a variety of Boards, and deals effectively with the challenges posed to a Chair when dealing with several types of stakeholder and participant. Highly recommended.

The Audit & Risk Committee - An Introduction workshop was very useful in explaining, in appropriate detail, the basic elements required, and expectations of a board, from a member joining an Audit & Risk committee. The content was relevant and was very well presented by a knowledgeable & competent professional.

The Charity Governance workshop is a very helpful and worthwhile workshop by the IoD. Directors need to keep learning, trying and continuously improving to achieve best practice in the interests of our charities. Great insights, tips and nuggets of info were given by the participants as well as the presenter.

The Boardroom Dynamics: The Psychology of Governance workshop provided a very beneficial insight into the social behavioural dynamics of not just the board of directors' but senior leadership teams also. Wieke created a relaxed learning environment where delegates could discuss behavioural psychology in practice, share rich experiences, develop a growth mind-set and forge new networks. Thoroughly enjoyable & would recommend.
