Led by experienced Non-Executive Director and Chartered Director, Karen Morton CDir. The workshop will take place at the Irish Management Institute (IMI), Sandyford Road, Sandyford, Dublin 16.

Karen Morton CDir Non-Executive Director and Personal Branding Expert
Karen is a non-executive director on the boards of daa plc, Fanagans Funeral Directors, Shaws and the Irish Chamber Orchestra. Karen Morton is a Chartered Director and Marketeer with 25+ years of executive and 7 years of non-executive director (NED) experience across tech, aviation, financial services, retail, and recruitment. Karen is an examiner for the Institute of Directors Chartered Director Programme and a consultant in Personal Branding. In her executive career, Karen was Chief Marketing Officer of Dell Financial Services and held executive roles in Dell, British Airways, eir and Monster.com. Karen holds a Bachelor of Business Degree from the University of Limerick, a Postgraduate Diploma in Marketing and is a Chartered Director of IoD Ireland.

This one-day workshop will equip directors and senior executives with a practical understanding of corporate governance principles, their legal responsibilities, and how to evaluate governance structures within their organisation.

Understanding the role you play as a director in relation to corporate governance is vital from both a legal, fiduciary and strategic perspective. Particularly in how corporate governance impacts board effectiveness, stakeholder trust, long-term strategy and resilience.

This workshop will be led by Karen Morton CDir, an experienced non-executive director and Chartered Director who has an extensive professional background in sectors including tech, financial services and public sector governance.

This workshop will take place in-person on Thursday, 12th November 2026 at the Irish Management Institute (IMI), Sandyford Road, Dublin 16 from 9:00 to 4:30pm.

The price for this workshop ranges from €485 - €575, depending on IoD Ireland membership status.

Workshop participants will receive a Certificate of Attendance on completion of the session.
To fully embrace participants’ experience and to encourage the sharing of this experience and knowledge by and with other participants, Karen Morton CDir will lead dynamic, interactive sessions, drawing on his own and participants’ experiences. She will integrate practical examples into the workshop and support participants in identifying key take-aways / action points.

Places are confirmed upon full payment. Cancellations with a full refund are accepted in writing to [email protected] until Thursday, 5th November 2026. After this date, no refunds are possible, and all fees are forfeited for cancellations or non-attendance. Recordings will not be available as part of post-session materials.
