The factsheet outlines the European Commission’s proposal for EU Inc, a new optional company type that would work across all EU countries. EU Inc aims to make it quicker, cheaper and easier to start, grow and close a business in Europe. It would use one set of EU‑wide company rules, reduce paperwork and support digital processes. The proposal is designed to help founders attract investment, hire talent and scale across borders more easily. National rules on tax, employment and social protection would still apply. Discussions on the proposal are ongoing, with a decision expected in 2026.
