Managing Data Protection after Brexit

Webcasts of Events

This webinar was recorded on Thursday, 26th November, and has been made available to IoD Ireland members courtesy of Sytorus. This webinar reviewed the implications of the UK departure from the European Union, which is effective from  1st January  2021, and was presented by Hugh Jones, Sytorus Co-founder and Chief Privacy Officer.

While this milestone will have implications across a wide range of industry sectors, this webinar focused on the data management implications, as well as considerations for EU-based organisations continuing to work and interact with UK-based service providers.

Mindful that negotiations between the two jurisdictions are continuing, this webinar took account of the most up-to-date view of the ongoing negotiations between the UK and the EU, with particular interest in discussions regarding the UK’s ‘adequacy’ status in terms of data security. It also included recommendations for EU-based organisations to ensure that their contractual arrangements in place with UK-based service providers are appropriate and compliant.

Sytorus have also kindly made available the following free training: Brexit Implications For Data Protection Training.
