In this IoD Briefing recorded on Thursday, 13th April 2023, Helen Dixon, Commissioner, Data Protection Commission, presented her session titled, 'Data Protection - A Boardroom Matter'.
Helen outlined developments on the fifth anniversary of the application of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), and provided an overview of trends in complaints, data breaches and enforcement. In addition, she gave a commentary on the particular role Ireland plays in EU data protection regulation, and addressed the new digital regulators coming onto the pitch in Ireland.
