Helen Nolan appointed as new IoD Ireland President

The Institute of Directors (IoD) Ireland, the leading membership body for directors and business leaders, has announced the appointment of a new President at their Annual General Meeting (AGM).

Helen Nolan, Chair Aviva Life & Pensions, was announced as the new President of IoD Ireland taking over the mantle from John Reynolds CDir, who has held the position for the last two years. Helen is currently a Non-Executive Director of US-listed fresh produce company Dole plc and of Companion Insurance DAC, where she Chairs the Audit Committee. 

In her executive career, Helen, a KPMG-trained chartered accountant, held several senior roles with Bank of Ireland Group, including Group Secretary (2009 - 2019) (where she was responsible for all aspects of board and corporate governance), Group Chief Internal Auditor and Divisional Finance Officer for the Capital Markets Division. 
 
Speaking about her appointment, Helen Nolan, President, IoD Ireland, said:

Helen Nolan, President, IoD Ireland added:

“I would also like to acknowledge former President John Reynolds CDir for his leadership and commitment to IoD Ireland over the last two years and I look forward to working with the IoD Executive and Council in supporting our members while we deliver what directors need to lead in times of ceaseless change. By championing innovation, life-long learning, and good governance we can help shape a dynamic future of Irish business from the inside out.”

Outgoing IoD Ireland President John Reynolds CDir reflected,

“I would like to express my appreciation of the work and commitment of each of the members of our Council and Executive during my tenure as President. I am delighted to pass on the baton to Helen and watch IoD Ireland continue to go from strength to strength.
