IoD Ireland welcomed members to a timely and insightful event titled, 'Governance & Risk Oversight in Economic Uncertainty'. The event was held in collaboration with Mason Hayes & Curran.
This timely commercially focused event addressed key director responsibilities and good governance meaures that help to mitigate risks during economic uncertainty. The discussion addressed practical and legal issues directors can face when trading conditions become more difficult, including decision-making, governance responsibilities, monitoring cash flow and liquidity indicators, while managing competing stakeholder interests.
The event featured a panel of expert speakers, including Frank Keane, Partner at EisnerAmper; James Morrin, Partner at Mason Hayes & Curran; Emer Shelly, Partner at Mason Hayes & Curran; and Claire Lord, Head of Corporate Governance at Mason Hayes & Curran.
After an engaging Q&A, IoD Ireland CEO Caroline Spillane CDir took the opportunity to thank members for their engagement at the event, and also thank the expert panel of speakers for their insight. Caroline reaffirmed the Institutes’ role as a member organisation, encouraging feedback on content, and events that matter most. She also took the opportunity to remind members of the support and resources available to them, including the latest learning and development opportunities, events, and director content.
