The Institute of Directors (IoD) Ireland has announced that Eileen Gleeson CDir will step down from her role as Programme Director for the Chartered Director Programme in Ireland at the end of this year.
Since taking up the role in 2017, Eileen has played a central part in leading the delivery of the Chartered Director Programme in Ireland, supporting directors and senior leaders across Ireland to strengthen their governance capability and board effectiveness.
Commenting on her departure, Eileen Gleeson CDir said:
“It has been a privilege to work with the Institute of Directors Ireland over the past sixteen years and in particular, the past ten years as Director of the Chartered Director Programme and to contribute to the development of boards and directors through that time. I am proud to have supported so many leaders on their boardroom journey. Strong governance has never been more important as directors and boards find themselves operating in an environment of unprecedented change and complexity. I am also very grateful to the IoD Ireland team, our members, and the many hundreds of programme participants I have had the pleasure of working with.”
Dr Caroline Spillane CDir, Chief Executive Officer, IoD Ireland, said:
“Eileen has made an outstanding contribution to IoD Ireland and to the advancement of director education in Ireland. Her deep boardroom experience and commitment to excellence have been of enormous value to our members and to the development of the Chartered Director Programme. On behalf of everyone at IoD Ireland, I want to thank Eileen sincerely for her dedication and wish her every success for the future.”
Eileen will step away from her role in December 2026. She intends to remain active in a consulting capacity, on board and director development projects.
