Current Dates and Fees: Chartered Director Programme

The Chartered Director Programme in Ireland has two commencement points in each calendar year, January, and September. For more information, visit the Current Programme Dates and Programme Fees tabs below.

  • Please note that participants join the Programme as part of a cohort and complete the Programme with that cohort. Once having started the Programme, deferrals from one cohort to a later cohort are not permissible.

    • Cohorts 53 to 56 will run from September 2019 to June 2020. (This schedule is subject to Government and health guidelines in relation to COVID-19).
    • Cohorts 57 to 61 will run from January/February 2020 to October 2020. (This schedule is subject to Government and health guidelines in relation to COVID-19).
    • Cohorts 62 to 65 will run from September 2020 to June 2021. (This schedule is subject to Government and health guidelines in relation to COVID-19).
    • Cohort 66-68 will run from January 2021 to November 2021. (This schedule is subject to Government and health guidelines in relation to COVID-19).

    The next available cohort for the Chartered Director Programme will be Cohort 69 which will begin on 21st January 2021. Place offers for Cohort 69 will be circulated shortly to those who have completed the application process. This schedule is subject to Government and health guidelines in relation to COVID-19.

    Subject to Government guidelines and public health requirements, this programme will be delivered in a classroom setting. However, online/virtual delivery will be considered where appropriate or necessary.     Examinations

    Please note the Chartered Director Programme fee includes examination entry fees for the Certificate and Diploma examinations, and candidates will be registered by the Institute of Directors in Ireland for their respective examinations. Should a candidate choose alternative examination dates and/or re-sit or defer an examination, additional fees will apply (see the fees tab for more information).     The Certificate and Diploma examinations take place online. Please see the dates for 2021 below.

    2021 Examination Dates for the Certificate in Company Direction

    • Examination date for Cohorts: 57 – 61: 27th January 2021
    • Examination date for Cohorts: 62 – 65: 10th March 2021

    2021 Examination Dates for the Diploma in Company Direction

    • Examination date for Cohorts 57 – 65: 23rd June 2021

  • Certificate and Diploma in Company Direction Fees

    The fees for the Chartered Director Programme (inclusive of both the Certificate and the Diploma in Company Direction) are:

    • €13,650 for IoD Ireland members (for 2020 September programmes)
    • €14,145 for non-members (for 2020 September programmes)

    The Programme fee includes tuition, documentation, examination entry, plus tea/coffee and lunches on module days. A non-refundable deposit is required on booking a place. All Programme fees are payable in advance of the Programme commencement and a cancellation policy applies. Please note IoD Ireland membership costs €495 in the first year and just €325 each year thereafter and all applications are subject to approval by the IoD Council.

    Becoming Chartered: The Professional Review Process Fee

    Having earned both the Certificate and Diploma in Company Direction, Programme participants may progress (subject to eligibility criteria ) to step four of the Chartered Director Programme and become a registered Chartered Director (CDir).  Please note that this process encompasses an additional cost. The enrolment fee is £720 stg + VAT 20% on a candidate's admission as a registered Chartered Director.
