Save the date for our next upcoming in-person event in Cork titled, ‘Ireland’s 2026 EU Presidency'. This event is being held in collaboration with Matheson LLP. Taking place from 6:00pm to 8:00pm on Thursday, 16 April 2026.

This event will explore the potential priorities of the Irish Presidency of the Council of the EU, and what this will mean for business leaders and directors in Ireland. Our panel of experts will be announced shortly.

Each EU member state holds the Presidency of the Council of the European Union on a rotating basis for a period of six months. During the Presidency from July to December 2026, Ireland will be responsible for driving forward EU legislation, setting agendas, and brokering compromises among member states. It will also act as a neutral mediator to ensure continuity in EU work and represents the Council in negotiations with other institutions. Ireland last held the Presidency in 2013.

All IoD Ireland members will be notified of this event once it is open for booking. Please note some event details may be subject to change.
