The 'Director Sentiment Monitor Q1 2020' details research on how members view key issues such as the economy, government performance and business confidence. This research was conducted between 18th and 26th March 2020, just as Ireland adjusted to the sudden ‘lockdown’ of the economy and society to protect public health during the COVID-19 pandemic. As a result, the research incorporates how IoD members envisage the lockdown restrictions impacting their organisations. The survey also records members’ views on talent availability, sustainability, tax reform, senior executive remuneration, and governance oversight and internal controls. This monitor compares the Q1 2020 findings with Q4 2019, where relevant.
