IoD Ireland reacts to new Government roadmap, 'Reframing the Challenge, Continuing Our Recovery and Reconnecting.

The Chief Executive of the Institute of Directors (IoD) in Ireland, Maura Quinn, has today welcomed the announcement by the Government of its roadmap, 'Reframing the Challenge, Continuing Our Recovery and Reconnecting'. The new plan is set to lift the remaining public health restrictions, which were imposed in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Maura Quinn, Chief Executive, Institute of Directors (IoD) in Ireland, commented:

"Our research has shown a resurgence of optimism among business leaders over the past few months and the Government’s roadmap is a further boost to the economy and to wider society, so it is very much to be welcomed. Nearly 70% of business leaders in our research have also told us that they expect hybrid working models to be part of the future nature of work. That will present challenges, at least initially, and striking a balance will be key. The Government’s guidance and continuing support measures on reopening the economy, workplaces and society, will be key to this plan being a success.
Of course, any roadmap is subject to changing circumstances, but the Government’s announcement brings both clarity and certainty in the short term. Beyond that, it is to be hoped that the public health situation continues to improve, and that the disruption of the past 20 months remains behind us."
