Business leaders break the ice at IoD Ireland new member networking event

News

Business leaders and directors gathered yesterday evening for our new member networking event.

Membership of IoD Ireland means that directors are not alone in their journey. It ensures that their contributions are part of a broader, collective effort to shape Ireland into an exemplar of corporate governance. Our purpose is to provide a supportive environment where they can seek advice, share concerns, and receive encouragement from others who understand the challenges they face. IoD Ireland is here to empower its members on their journey to excellence.

For this reason, we were delighted to gather our new members to this special event. The event provided new members with an opportunity to mingle and connect with fellow IoD Ireland members in an engaging and relaxed setting. Caroline Spillane CDir, Chief Executive Officer, IoD Ireland, gave a warm welcome to the new members on the evening, outlining the supports and resources available to IoD Ireland members, and encouraged them to explore the other benefits of membership. She then introduced guest speaker and facilitator for the evening, Jean Evans, Networking Architect.

Thes tips included: Starting where you are, knowing your value, connecting and building trust, diversifying your networks, developing your power skills, building networks, and ensuring follow ups. The event also included a fun ‘speed networking' session facilitated by Jean, which provided participants with a unique opportunity to connect with multiple like-minded members, across a range of industries, and establish new professional and personal connections.

Belong to a valued network

Networking is an essential part of the IoD Ireland member experience. IoD Ireland provides a supportive network, and offers opportunities for collaboration, as well as access to carefully curated resources. Membership offers a range of benefits including the opportunity to build your profile and spark new connections with Ireland’s top business minds. All IoD members who register for our events will receive a copy of the attendee list. As part of this, we are happy to facilitate an introduction between another member you may wish to meet, subject to affirmation from the other member.

If you are a member looking to make that connection and/or looking to learn more about IoD Ireland membership, we would love to hear from you.
