IoD Breakfast Briefing - The Challenges Facing Today's Entrepreneurial Businesses

12 October 2017 7:30am

Privately held entrepreneurial businesses will always be the backbone of every economy in Europe, and middle market companies (turnover €10m - €200m) are the quiet heroes. Typically, these entities are around 40 times larger than start-up enterprises but 30 times smaller than large corporates. They contribute to the generation of substantial income, outputs, innovation and stable employment.

So, are entrepreneurial businesses hostage to national economic conditions, their corporate competitors and the disruption of start-ups in their market – or are the real drivers of their performance, strength and shareholder return within each company’s own control?

Emer O’Riordan and Lorcan Colclough will share lessons of how successful entrepreneurial businesses step back from the all-consuming day to day treadmill of running their business to sharpen their focus on building long-term shareholder value with the behaviours and clarity of their corporate competitors. Additionally, they will demonstrate how entrepreneurial businesses can evaluate their own performance across the key business drivers.
