John Smyth is a corporate governance specialist and a former President of the Institute of Directors, as well as a Chartered Director (CDir). John has delivered quality director training courses for companies in Ireland and overseas. Using his broad experience, he has added value to companies through constructive critical contributions at board and committee meetings. 

From 1992 to 2000, John was Group Chief Executive with First National Building Society/First Active plc. He is an independent board member of various organisations including IPB Insurance, Ostia Software Solutions and Department of Education, Northern Ireland, where he is Chairman of the Audit Committee. John is also a member of the advisory board of Risk Management International.

IoD workshops may be eligible for CPD, including Chartered Director CPD. Please check with your relevant professional body. IoD workshops are admissible as part of the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment (CISI) CPD scheme and would count towards “Active” learning. Workshops may also be eligible for CPD with Chartered Accountants Ireland, the Law Society of Ireland, the Institute of Banking, the Insurance Institute of Ireland, and the Life Insurance Association. Workshop Fee

• IoD members - €425 ex VAT
• Non-members - €485 ex VAT 

Places can only be confirmed on receipt of full payment. Cancellations will be accepted if received in writing by Tuesday, 28th January 2020.

However, there will be a 50% cancellation charge. All fees are forfeited thereafter. Workshop fees are also non-transferrable.
