Caroline Kirrane

Caroline Kirrane

CFA Charterholder

Caroline Kirrane has over a decade of experience working in financial markets. After completing her undergraduate degree in France, Caroline began her career working in a hedge fund in Paris. She then returned to Dublin, working in US-based proprietary trading firm Susquehanna. She has held positions in Dexia and FinTech start-up Eagle Alpha, and has also worked as an economist with the Central Bank of Ireland, advising senior policy-makers on financial market developments.

Caroline has an undergraduate degree in European Business and French from Dublin City University. She also holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Trinity College Dublin, and is a CFA Charterholder.

In this workshop, Caroline will take participants through the following five keys metrics:

  • Cash flow - understanding, calculating and monitoring your cash conversion cycle; why inventory, receivables and payables need close management.
  • Revenue - quality, product mix, customer mix, recurring versus non-recurring; why digging into revenue trends can position you for long-term success.
  • Profits - margin trends, examining the cost structure; while profits may have taken a temporary hit, ensure there is a plan to recover margins quickly.
  • Assets - return on assets; any assets not earning their keep should be evaluated, lighter balance sheets are more nimble in a crisis.
  • Debt - interest cover can help you evaluate if your debt burden is sustainable.

During the workshop Caroline will outline the following key tip for recovery:

  • Avoid overtrading - unlike other recessions, this recovery is likely to be sharp and swift - position your business for post-COVID growth and beware of overtrading.
