Lorraine Rees, FCA, is the Director of IR-connect consultancy. Lorraine established the IR-connect consultancy in 2015, specialising in investor relations (IR) for IPOs, ad hoc projects, and personalised IR mentoring for executive and non-executive directors, IR Directors, and IROs. 

She runs a number of courses for the IR Society, including best practice in IR, debt IR, ethics, and the advanced Diploma modules. 

Prior to setting up her consultancy company, she was IR Director at Standard Life plc, Head of IR at The Phoenix Group, and an equity analyst at Exane BNP Paribas.

Lorraine originally trained as a chartered accountant, and has also worked in strategy, corporate finance, private equity and banking.

In this workshop, Lorraine Rees will take participants through the following key elements: 

The role of investor relations (IR) in listed, private equity owned, and limited companies.

This will include:

  • What does IR do?
  • Information flow between the board and its investors/ shareholders
  • Integrating IR, PR, and communications activities.

Developing a proactive investor engagement plan.

This will include:

  • Building confidence through transparent and effective communication.
  • Best practice in IR.
  • What tools and resources does IR need?

Debt investors

  • What’s the differences between equity IR and debt IR?
  • Working with rating agencies.

IR and crisis management

  • What happens when things go wrong?
  • A seven-point investor relations health check that every company should do.
  • Tips and recommendations for non-executive directors.

Workshop material is prepared by presenters and produced by the IoD wholly and exclusively for use by workshop participants. Please note that workshop material will be provided in soft copy to all participants.

  • IoD members - €175 ex VAT
  • Non-members - €225 ex VAT 

CPD
