We are delighted to announce this online workshop titled, 'Chairing Boards and Committees', presented by Marie Collins, Chartered Director.

The chair has a critical influence on a board or committee’s performance and culture. Whether you are newly appointed, or looking to improve your performance with a fresh perspective, this practical workshop will equip you with the essential knowledge and skill-set to fulfil your role with confidence and success.

Chartered Director

Marie Collins is a Chartered Director (CDir), and a highly skilled non-executive director across a range of sectors. She is an experienced governance trainer and facilitator to boards in both the public and private sector.

Marie is the chair of Home Building Finance Ireland (HBFI) DAC and is also a board and Audit & Risk Committee (A&RC) member of IPUT Plc, the Communications Regulator, Bank of Ireland General Investment Trust, and Eco UNESCO, where she chairs the A&RC. 

Marie is also a trustee of Trinity College Dublin Foundation where she also chairs the A&RC. She previously chaired the Irish Association of Pension Funds.

Marie holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Corporate Governance from UCD and a MBA from Trinity College, Dublin.

By attending this course you will gain the knowledge and skills to:

  • Understand the role and responsibilities of the chair in successfully leading and chairing a board or committee

  • Understand board dynamics and tone from the top
  • Chair an effective board meeting.

Workshop material is prepared by presenters and produced by the IoD wholly and exclusively for use by workshop participants. Please note that workshop material will be provided in soft copy to all participants.

  • IoD members - €175 ex VAT
  • Non-members - €225 ex VAT 

Cancellations and Refunds

Places can only be confirmed on receipt of full payment. Cancellations and a full refund will be accepted if received in writing to training@iodireland.ie by 5pm on Wednesday, 12th May. After 12th May, no refund will be possible, and all fees will be forfeited in the event of a cancellation or non-attendance.

CPD

IoD workshops may be eligible for CPD, including Chartered Director CPD. Please check with your relevant professional body.

  • To attend this workshop, please book and pay via the “Book Now” button above.
  • All registered attendees will receive a joining instructions email closer to 17th May. This email will contain your registration link to access the workshop. Please press this to confirm once you receive it.
