Migration of Existing Private Limited Companies

Following the commencement of the Companies Act 2014 on 1st June 2015, an existing private company limited by shares must decide, within the transition period, whether to opt in to the new regime for a private company limited by shares or convert to some other type of company that the Act permits.

As was previously the case under the Companies Acts 1963 to 2013, it is largely a matter for each company to prescribe the internal regulations that apply to the convening and conducting of meetings of the board with legislation providing some default rules.
