The Christmas Lunch is one of the highlights of the IoD calendar, at which IoD members and their guests enjoy each other's company in a lively and festive atmosphere. This year, and with thanks to our sponsor, Diligent, we are delighted to once again welcome comedians Barry Murphy and Colm O'Regan as our special guests.

Colm O’Regan is a critically acclaimed stand-up comedian, columnist and broadcaster. He writes a weekly column for the Irish Examiner and has written for national online and paper publications on both sides of the Irish Sea. Colm is also a columnist with RTÉ Radio 1’s Drivetime, BBC World Service’s In The Balance and BBC World News’ Talking Business. His RTE Radio 1 comedy show Colm O'Regan Wants a Word won a national radio award in 2016 and is nominated again this year.
As a standup comedian, he has performed all over the world. His stand-up has also featured on RTÉ’s Late Late Show and on Comedy Central. Colm also set up and runs the @irishmammies Twitter account which, with over 210,000 followers, was the inspiration behind his previous three bestselling books of Irish Mammies. His latest book, called Bolloxology, was also a top 5 bestseller in Ireland. From Dripsey in County Cork, Colm now lives in Dublin but he’s up and down that road a good bit.
Barry Murphy is one of Ireland’s most important comedians. The only comedian to have played every Kilkenny Cat Laughs comedy festival since 1995, he was also the co-founder of the Comedy Cellar, Ireland’s longest-running comedy venue. Barry is co-creator of Après Match, Irish Pictorial Weekly and Soupy Norman. He has been called one of the "ten kings of Irish Comedy over the last 20 years" (Hot Press Magazine).
Since starting the Comedy Cellar in 1988, Barry has performed in New York, San Francisco, Kansas, Shanghai, Prague, Berlin, Stuttgart, The Edinburgh festival and all over the UK.
