COP26 has been referred to as our last best chance to limit global warming and to turn the Paris commitments into action – so what does that mean for businesses in Ireland, particularly considering the publication of the Government’s highly anticipated Climate Action Plan.

Karen will present new findings from the world’s largest sustainability study conducted to date by the United Nations Global Compact and Accenture, which found that 71% of CEOs say they are actively working to develop a net-zero emissions target for their company, however only 2% of these companies have a formal target that has been scientifically validated. 

Juan will discuss Kerry Group’s Beyond the Horizon strategy and how it is driving Kerry’s ambition to reach over two billion people with sustainable nutrition solutions by 2030.

Karen O'Regan is Managing Director of Accenture Strategy in Ireland and leads Accenture’s Sustainability practice. She works with CEOs and senior management of large organisations in both the public and private sector. Her role focuses on transformation, sustainable business growth and innovation strategy. Karen helps organisations respond to disruptive technology shifts, using sustainability as a key lens in driving competitive agility.

Juan Aguiriano is Group Head Sustainability and Technology Ventures, Global Executive Team, Kerry Group. Juan is a corporate sustainability pioneer with over 25 years of experience leading businesses and working at the C-suite level at some of the world’s biggest food, chemical and fibre companies to provide strategic guidance in helping develop and implement innovative strategies to transform businesses and operations towards triple-bottom line sustainability.

Currently leading the sustainability strategy at the Kerry Group, a world leader in Taste & Nutrition, Juan is focused on creating significant, positive impact on the environment and society, by driving businesses’ sustainability leadership.
