Dr Jane Suiter is Director of the Institute for Future Media and Journalism (FuJo) at Dublin City University (DCU). She is also an Associate Professor in the School of Communications at DCU.

In this Lunch Bites @ the IoD event, Jane will share her views and insights into democracy in Ireland and beyond, and the roles played by the Citizens' Assembly and journalism.

Institute for Future Media and Journalism (FuJo), DCU

Dr Jane Suiter is Director of the Institute for Future Media and Journalism (FuJo) at DCU. She is also an Associate Professor in the School of Communications at DCU. 

Jane's expertise lies mainly in the area of the public sphere and, in particular, participation and political engagement, including direct democracy and other modes of engaging the public in decision-making processes. 

Dr Suiter was research leader on the Irish Citizens' Assembly (2016-2018) and the Irish Constitutional Convention (2012-2014). She is a founding member of the organisation We the Citizens, established in 2011, Ireland’s first deliberative experiment. She also currently leads two EU Horizon 2020 projects; JOLT, which harnesses technology for journalism; and PROVENANCE, which tackles the disinformation contagion in the social sphere.
