The Christmas Lunch is one of the highlights of the IoD calendar, where members and their guests enjoy each other's company in a lively and festive atmosphere. This year, and with thanks to our sponsor, First Names Group, we are delighted to welcome comedians Barry Murphy, Gary Cooke and John Colleary as our special guests.

Demand is always high for this event and places can only be held on receipt of payment. Cancellations will be accepted if received in writing before 23rd November 2018. There will be strictly no refunds after this date.

"The Comedy Don" - Irish Times. 

Barry Murphy is recognised as one of the “ten kings of Irish Comedy over the last 20 years” (Hot Press Magazine). Tatler Comedian of the Year 2017, with seven IFTA nominations, he has successfully hosted events including The Irish Film Awards; The Radio awards, the Amnesty “Best Of Irish” Showcase for Granada TV, as well as over 250 corporate and charity functions. The last few years have seen him concentrating on writing and performing Après Match, Irish Pictorial Weekly and Soupy Norman. 

The only comedian to have performed at all 24 Cat Laughs festivals, he is currently directing the stage version of Waterford Whispers News.

Gary Cooke

Comedian

Gary Cooke is an Irish actor, satirist and writer who is one of the stars, on screen, of Aprés Match, and, on stage with I, Keano and MacBecks.

Gary has been involved in many other successful comedy shows such as Gift Grub, Irish Pictorial Weekly, Bridget and Eamon, The Eleventh Hour and The Centre.

John Colleary

John Colleary

Comedian

John Colleary has worked as a stand-up comedian, satirist and actor for almost 15 years.

His writing and, in particular, his mimicry skills brought him to the attention of Matt Cooper's Last Word on Today FM, where he went on to win a PPI award for his contribution.

Co-writing and appearing in both IFTA nominated shows, The Savage Eve and Irish Pictorial Weekly on RTE, John has firmly established himself on the comedy scene as a very versatile performer.
