IoD and McCann FitzGerald - 'GDPR - What Directors Need to Know'

The IoD and McCann FitzGerald have partnered to bring IoD members the most relevant and applicable information in respect of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), due to come into effect in May 2018.

This regulation overhauls and expands the scope of EU data protection law. Companies that process the data of EU residents, must comply with the new requirements or risk incurring substantial financial penalties and other negative consequences.  

This event, entitled, 'GDPR - What Directors Need to Know' will equip attendees with insight from the experts and advice on GDPR compliance. The presenters from McCann FitzGerald will cover a number of topics at the event, including:

• An overview of the new data protection regime.
• Potential consequences of non-compliance.
• Key obligations and their operational impact.
• Preparing for the GDPR.
• Role of the DPO and interaction with board of directors.

Annette Hogan is a Consultant for McCann FitzGerald on the areas of technology and innovation. Annette has a masters’ degree in information technology law and advises a wide range of clients on information technology, outsourcing, data protection, freedom of information, intellectual property, e-commerce and confidentiality matters.
