CEO, IDA Ireland

Martin Shanahan is CEO of IDA Ireland. Martin is also a Board Member of IDA and Chairman of its Investment Committee. IDA (Industrial Development Agency) is Ireland’s inward investment promotion agency responsible for the attraction and development of foreign investment in Ireland. Martin took up this position on 1st September 2014. Martin is an Adjunct Full Professor at UCD Michael Smurfit Graduate School of Business since September 2019.

Previously, Martin was Chief Executive of Forfás, Ireland’s policy advisory board for enterprise, trade, science, technology, and innovation. He also held executive roles in Fáilte Ireland, the tourism development authority. Martin is listed (#6) on the Yahoo Finance/Outstanding 2019 list of top 30 Leading Public Sector LGBT+ Executives.
