Overview

We are delighted to invite you to our upcoming event in Galway, in partnership with the Diligent Institute. This event will mark our latest joint ESG research titled, ‘The State of ESG Strategy in Irish Boardrooms’. The event will take place from 4:15pm at the Diligent HQ Office, 25 Dock Rd, Galway, on Tuesday, 29th November 2022.

In recent years, the world has witnessed a monumental shift in the level of interest in environmental, social and governance (ESG) issues. Investors, employees, customers and regulators alike have heightened the pressure on corporations to embrace ESG into their organisational strategy. For most of these stakeholders, ESG presents a business opportunity that has the potential for establishing a long-term value creation.

Yet there are challenges to realising these opportunities. Diligent Institute and the Institute of Directors (IoD) in Ireland have conducted in-depth research to understand the state of ESG strategy in Irish boardrooms. This research also explores how boards are addressing stakeholders needs and integrating ESG risks and opportunities into their overall strategies, as well as addressing director skills and expertise in this area.

We would be delighted if you would join us for this event, which will take a first look into the results of the 2022 report, ‘The State of ESG Strategy in Irish Boardrooms’. The event will include a welcome address from IoD Ireland President Imelda Reynolds CDir, a climate and ESG update by Yee Chow, ESG and Governance Expert, Diligent, as well as a panel discussion with the following notable speakers:

  • Thomas Bean CDir, Innovation Director, Electric Ireland.
  • Frank Cashman, Chairman, Anecto Ireland.
  • Caroline Spillane CDir, Chief Executive Officer, Institute of Directors (IoD) in Ireland.
  • Moderated by Adrian Fleming, VP ESG and Sustainability Products, Diligent Institute.
