As part of our ongoing work to share exclusive content and insights with members, we are delighted to invite you to join our upcoming Briefings webinar titled, 'Challenges for Organisations and Leaders as the Pandemic Persists: Lessons from Behavioural Science', with Professor Pete Lunn, Founder and Head of the Behavioural Research Unit (BRU), ESRI, on Thursday, 2nd December.

This talk will outline the latest evidence on how the general public in Ireland and, in particular, workers are responding to the ongoing pandemic. This evidence raises challenges and opportunities for organisations and leaders to adapt to our changed circumstances.

In this webinar, Professor Lunn will cover:

  • how people are coping
  • how much people want to return to life as it was
  • what people wish to change, including our preferred working patterns,
  • and how strongly our perspectives differ between different types of people.

Professor Pete Lunn

Founder and Head of the Behavioural Research Unit, ESRI

Professor Pete Lunn is the founder and head of the Behavioural Research Unit (BRU) at the ESRI. His primary area of study is how people make decisions that affect their financial, environmental and health outcomes. The BRU has pioneered the use of experimental methods for addressing policy problems in Ireland.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, the BRU has undertaken multiple studies on compliance with public health guidance, risk perception and willingness to be vaccinated, including the regular Social Activity Measure for the Department of the Taoiseach. Professor Lunn has served on the Behavioural Change Subgroup of NPHET, the Communications and Behavioural Advisory Committee to the Department of Health, and the Rapid Testing Expert Advisory Group.
