Nigel Blow, CEO Arnotts, will deliver this briefing on 'Rebuilding a Great Tradition'

Nigel will outline the fascinating history of Ireland’s oldest department store, established in 1843.  Today Arnotts is the largest store of its kind in the country with over 300,000 square feet of retail space, employing 1,200 people.  Nigel will present an analysis of the €5m store development, and plans for 2012, as well as addressing the challenges to the retail sector in current economic conditions.

About Nigel Blow

Nigel has worked in retail for 24 years. He started his career in Next in 1987, joined French Connection in 1990 and moved to Harrods in 1992. He was appointed Director of Merchandise and Logistics for Kurt Geiger in 1999.  In 2002 he returned to Harrods as Buying and Merchandise Director, responsible for all buying and retail functions for the Knightsbridge store.  On leaving Harrods in 2007, he was appointed CEO of Brown Thomas.  He joined Arnotts as a consultant in April 2010 and was appointed CEO in October 2010.  Since Nigel joined Arnotts, he has introduced many changes to the store, including a new technology and home appliances department, two new restaurants run by Clodagh McKenna, WH Smith books, Elverys Sports, a revamped menswear department and accessories hall.
